Olympic Trials Update

Jason Krell

With day five upon us of the 2024 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Trials, Crest Swimming has had a remarkably successful meet. Seven swimmers (13% of the club!) have proudly represented Crest and experienced fantastic performances and noteworthy surprises. On the men's side, Crest is currently ranked 17th, with a very busy weekend ahead. Five swimmers will be racing a combined eight events during these final three days of competition. Ella H, Ben L, and Jack L are all swimming the 200m Fly, with Ben in medal contention, seeded second in the heavyweight event. Jacques H is also swimming the 200m Back early this morning along with the 200 IM. Albert B is aiming to put his fastest effort into the 50m Free as our swimmers look to carry forward the momentum of an amazing meet so far. Congratulations to Ben C on some excellent swimming and his Junior Finals races in both the 100m and 200m Breast and to Griffin on an excellent 100m Back.

Having Ben and Griffin back to swim as alum has been so exciting for the swim community, with young swimmers, families, and coaches all anticipating each of their races with bated breath. We look forward to all that the Crest swimmers will give this weekend and will be cheering them on at TPASC, in our homes, and at our home pool in Crescent Town.
